well i was looking very close at my rainbow monti and it seems like it has RTN , it's been like this for about a month i think ( i don't remember when i tried cutting the plug )... i don't know to much about it, so please correct me hehe but the base it's like tan (more white than tan of course), the polyps are brown on top of the base so i don't know :(.
i had my maxijet broken but now since last weekend that has been the only change in the tank :(.
would this get better or do you guys think that i need to frag it (ohh boy if you doods say frag it, i'm gonna pee pee my pants because have never done such a think !!:oops:)

please any ideas.

i'll post a pic as soon as i can find the darn camera

spongebob,
I saw one at an LFS that looked white at the base margin, almost like it was RTN'ing. When I looked closer, I could see a very tiny white object that turned out to be a monti eating nudi!

I'm not saying that you have them, but take a close look at the white spots and in the crevices near the white spot. They like to hide from the strong lighting in the darkness of the place between the monti margin and the plug.

ohh i don't think this is the case dood, the coral was fine (aside from being brown :p) until i started trying to cut the frag plug ..that's when at the very top i hurt it :(...now ever since, it hasn't been the same :(.
I'm trying to get the camera to work dood (not that my pictures are any good :p)so you can see what i'm talking about

RTN usually occurs within 24 hours or less and all the tissue is gone floating away in small pieces Leaving a snow white skeleton void of any tissue including polyps.

Slow tissue recession in the lower areas of SPS corals is often caused by inadequate flow.

Regards,
Kevin
