I bought a new AquaticLife HO T5 fixture the middle of December. Once I put the legs on installation looked pretty simple. Set on tank, plug in and program. Now to the idiot part, somehow I failed to notice that although the bulbs were already in the fixture, they were wrapped in plastic sleeves and stabilized with styrofoam donuts that were meant to be removed before the fixture was used. In my defense I have middle-age eyes plus the bulbs are under the plexiglass cover,( which also was covered with plastic on both sides which I also overlooked!). I have used that fixture since the middle of December like that...well until yesterday when it quit working. Thank goodness I didn't do anything worse than just over heat the bulbs, and new bulbs got it going again and nothing worse than my pride was hurt!

LOL,
We have all been down the stupid road sometime or another. Glad to hear there was no serious damage to the light.
Do you have any before and after pics??

BTW. dont forget to take the lens cover off before you take the pics!!!

LOL, not even sure my hubby will let me near the camera after this incident. Actually in my thread, Dawn's new 36 gallon bow front there is a before and after pic. The very first pic is a before and yesterday's update is an after. Its not apples and apples though, my LFS didn't have a purple bulb so I am running two 10ks instead of one 10k and one purple when the whites are on.
