O'l Man Winter?

What do you do differently from summer to now the beginnings of winter? I know for one, less heat issues, I find it easier to control temps. when you have cooler weather but there has to be a ton more ideas from season to season right?

I just finished building an insulated box out of rigid styrofoam to house my ro/di unit that is in the garage. Also insulated my mixing tube. Every time I make water I have to unhook the hose and drain it so it will not freeze. Never know when you need to make water in a hurry. It would be a bummer if the hose had to thaw out.
I also reduce the light cycle on the tank by about 1 1/2 hour per day.

Ok do you reduce your lighting to mimic the reefs or just to save on power?

I did it to mimic the season. The power bill on the CF is minimal.
Also wanted to see if it would have an effect on the corals. All softies and a couple LPS. Havent seen any ill effects in the past mo.
