I have about 20lbs of old live rock from my old tank. It's been in a sealed plastic container for about 2 yrs. It doesn't smell bad at all. I've asked some people from different fish places if I can still use it in my reef tank. Some say yes bcuz it's already cured and others say no bcuz it can create phosphates. So who's right? My tank is 75 gal. reef. I was fighting some long hairy grn algae w/ brn on the gravel. So far I'm winning. Today when I chkd my Ca it was about 280, very low. Ph is about 8.4, alk 4. In the tank I have bunch of mushrms, purple tank, jawfish, cardinal, and 2 clownfish. They mate like crazy!!!
So, what's you alls recommendation of adding this rock. Is it a yae or nae??

PS, I already have some live rock in the tank.

Thanx guys,
Oscar...

Oscar, it can be used but I would suggest boiling in a big pot of hot water for as long as you can. this should take care of any problems that may be inside it.

On the calcium have you checked your magnesium yet??
