I was fragging a torch coral and accidentaly split the stalk in half vertically by accident. The action was pretty gentle and i didnt seem to have ripped the flesh, so i glued it back together. Its been over a week now and it looks like nothing ever happened to it. it actually seems to expand better than before i cut it. Ive heard of people propagating bubble corals by cutting the skeleton and placing a wedge in between. Would the same method apply with branching Euphillia's as well?

while may LPS can be split through such large single polyps... Phaceloid Euphylliids can be funny about it.

I'd only attempt it if the specimen was well-established and well-fed (target fed) many months in advance.

Thanks man,
I probably just got lucky because the break was extremely gentle. i cut 3/4 of the way through with a dremel and wedged a tool in the cut to snap it off. I barely applied any pressure at all the the stem fractured down the center. I doubt ill ever do this on purpose, but i like to experiment when i get the chance.
