Overflow Question

I was just curious as to how far your drain pipe should go down into your overflow box. I have the MegaFlow AGA Kit. Thanks

My Durso stand pipes are about even with the top of the Overflow, making the water level about 2-3 inches below the overflow level. It makes them very quiet.

Should my drain pipe be making slurping noises? it's annoying!
