Pac Man is dead. F.E. and the Planaria were just to much for him. He didnt live untill the second 36 gallon water change.

Wow steve, you are having a bad run of it w/ the FW exit. Terribly sorry, I have lost a few fish recently too, so I know how bad you feel. It is hard to see the little ones that you are trying soo hard to take care of not make it because of something you did to try to make things better for them.

I am very sorry for your loss, he was a beautiful fish! I do appreciate your posting all this info as you have gone through this procedure. I am planning to do the same in the near future and now I know I will definately be removing my fish until the danger is over.

Susie :)

Naso Loss

Sorry to hear about this Steve I didn't even know this could Kill Fish? I have used this in the past in smaller tanks, And I lost a Skunk Cleaner shrimp. Since then I Fw exit all in comming corrals and pray My Leopards will take care of anything elese.

How much live stock do you still have in you tank right now ? How are they doing?

Ok, I have a blue face angel, a coral beauty, a mandirin goby, a tailspot wrasse, a figi damsel, and a percula clown. As of yesterday, I had all that plus a bicolor angel and pygmy angel and a naso tang.
The bicolor is fine in another tank, the pygmy died during the live rock blasting and before the treatment.
The Naso was a big pig. He would eat anything that would fit in his mouth. I am sure he started eating the flatworms when they started to die. It is not flat worm exits fault at all. It did not fail to do what it was supposed to do. I followed the instructions. I used 1lb of new carbon and a almost 50% water change instead of 25%. I did another 50% change tonight.
All corals, anemone, shrimp, the acro crab, feather dusters, even the lettuce nudi came thru fine and happy.
Hope this helps someone else. I would use it again, I will probley move all fish to a seperate tank for 24 hours next time if I have to do it again.
I dont know that a huge skimmer and lots of flow will stop them. I have a tunze 6100 and a 1506 gph at zero head return pump to a eductor with a ASM G-3 Skimmer and they still spread pretty quickly in my tank. The LFS has just been swamped in them and is not treating for them, just selling FWE, but not treating thier tanks at all.

Halichoeres Melanurus/ Tail spot wrasse.

Steve did you see your Tail spot wrasse. Eat any of the flat worms before you treated your tank?

Wrightman, sorry for your loss.

Apprentice--I think you have just emphasized something that tends to be forgotten on these boards. Every tank reacts differently.

well dood like i said in another thread i'm really really sorry :( .
it feels so horrible when you loose a fish that's been with you for quite sometime.
now who's gonna beat those ghosts and eat all the dots and the walking fruits in every level :p:D ... sorry about my humor sometimes i go dumb for a little bit :D

sorry to see that steve. my wife and son picked up a naso tang a few weeks ago that was pretty stressed when they brought him home. they wanted to surprise me when i got home from work in the morning. even though they aclimated him properly he did not make it through the night. that sucked to come home to a dead fish. Feeling they made a mistake they went back to the lfs and bought me a new brain coral. within 2 days the brain was mush. 2 days later one of my hammer corals and one of my frogspawns seemed to have rtd and the next day they were gone. a day or so later my 2 lyretail anthias died and my blue spotted kole tang. he was my favorite fish. im not thinking the naso was the cause as more likely toxic stinging cells from the brain. either way something introduced something else to my tank. I did more water changes, ran carbon and good husbandry. now i have nitrates and algae again. this hobby can be very rewarding but also very frustrating. any wy good luck dude. steve

Dang Steve, thats alot worse than what has happened here.
I always sooned or later try to follow any problem I have back to my part in it. MY part in this is not having a coral quar. tank, and not treating all new corals with F.W.E. and interceptor. I should of removed all fish to my quar tanks but they are full of fish from a 125, I am changing over to a 180. So I need to get more quar. tanks and a coral quar tank. That would prevent this from happening again.
Its all good Gabbie, I thought it was funny too. I have a sick sense of humor though. LOL J/K.
Steve that must of made them feel terrible too. I always hate it when I try to help and make someone happy and screw up and make things worse. I hate that the most.
