good morning all,
while looking up into my overflow from below, i noticed that the jawfish that had come up missing the previous morning had taken up residence in there. got him out easy enough, but in the few minutes that it took for me to go to the kitchen and get some foil to cover the top, my percula jumped in. i've been trying for two days to get him out. anyone out there know of any tricks to getting a fish out.
it's a megaflow overflow.
thanks in advance

if you're good with siphons, get some large diameter tubing and suck him out, i do that with my citron gobies all the time!

as long as you can get a siphon going and sneak up on him it usually works. just make sure there is a bucket at the other end of the siphon. don't want fish ala carpet ;)

When i had my 75 gallon the tank was not drilled i use to find fish all the time in my overflow box, i just set up a 125 reef ready tank with duel mega overflows, with a 40 gallon ecosystem i just love the tank, waited a long time for it,(money). ;)

Drain the overflow...

I have a tiny littly Ocellaris clown that ended up in my overflow. I just pulled up the riser tube for the drain and down he went....I was waiting at the other end with a net where the water empties into the fuge and then dropped him back into the main tank.
