pH swings

when articles are referring to "pH swings" that could be dangerous for our reef tanks, what range are they referring to?

my pH in the past week has been between 8.1 - 8.25, and it goes up and down daily depending on the temperature. I am seeing more variability in the pH because it gets colder at night and my heaters are having more difficulty keeping the temperature constant. (temp range 74-78 degrees depending on the time of day)

your range is not a swing and I would not be concern..

the swings they, whoever they are, are citing large swings. For example, your pH during the day is 8.2 and at late night is 7.7..anything more than 0.3 I would consider a swing that needs watching..
