I found this guy on the glass and he just looked like he might be bad cause ive never seen one of these. Whatever it is. He has a small shell on the top but he didnt seem to close up into when i picked him out. He Moves very fast though. Heres some Pics hes in a Plastic container so if you can help me the sooner the better or he might just bite it in the container.
Thanks

Anyone know why stomatella's would disappear from a tank? I used to have dozens and dozens, at night they would cover the glass. The tank has been running for over a year with no appreciable parameter changes in the last few months. And I haven't added any new creatures for a while either. I noticed in the last month or so, they seem to be gone???

I would think they would breed and live, depending on the available food in your tank.
If the amount of algae and other nutrients go down, I would think the population of your stomellas would go down also.

They might still be there. I have tons of them and they are usually very easy to find, but they are very good at hiding when they want to. Check late at night. If they are really gone, it must have something to do with their food source or a predator. They are great and do indeed multiply fast. I'm just starting to get to the point that I've given some away for free and couldn't tell the difference.
