Would Spa Flex hose that you can get at home depot be okay to use for my closed loop? I am running a dolphin ampmaster 7500 with 4x1 1/2" outlets. TIA!

Matt

I have a question on flex tubing. My tubes are becoming brownish red and can't see threw them in some spots. Is this normal? There about 4-5 months old.

This is normal for the clear tubing. Spa Flex hose is used on Hot tubs / spa and can be glued to normal pvc fittings. Make sure you use primer on the hose and glue in the fitting.

The Spa Flex hose most are talking about is White in color and very heavy. Where the clear is not as heavy duty

PS - u'll love using the Spaflex - wish I'd used more of it on my tank :)

I just used Spa flex hose for the first time and I wish I would have known how easy it is to use. I too wish I had used it more on my set up. Makes everything flow so much better the down side is it cost a little bit more then normal PVC pipe.

LOL...I look forward to using it then! I just got back from buying the rest of my stuff at Kevin's. I just need the spa flex now!

Alright so I got the tank in the basement finally and up on the stand. I was putting the bulkheads in and dont know how tight to tighten them? Just hand tight or do I need to get a wrench on them? TIA!

The black or Sch 80?

If they are the black ones don’t over tighten. But use a wrench just a little. I cracked more then my share of them from over tightening them. If you hear a "pop" get a new one. That’s when I learned that it’s best to spend a few more $$ and get all Sch 80 bulkheads

I also did a water hold test and most of the black ones leaked no matter how tight/loose I left them

Most of them are black. One has a white backing on it but it is still a black bulkhead. I will keep that in mind. Is there anyway of stopping the leaking then dogfrog? I haven't heard a pop yet but then again I have just been hand tighting as tight as I could. I would have gotten Sch 80's but no one in town has them apparently. Well at least in 1 1/2". Thanks for the advice guys!

you will have to drop down in size if you use Sch80 ones. They require a bigger size hole. Wher 1" blac ones fit I had to use 3/4" Sch 80 to fit in the same hole
