Over the last couple of weeks, I've been noticing alot of talk on different forums about feeding corals with claims that product "X" is great food for corals. This got me thinking what is everyone on this forum feeding their corals (if at all)?

You didnt add "Blender mix" to the poll. My personal food I feed the tank has pureed clams, prawns, mysis shrimp, rotifiers, baby brine shrimp and cyclopeze. I dont target feed any corals but the fish sure as heck arent getting any of the last three ingredients while they are darting around the tank eating the clams and prawns.

I add selcon to my fish food, as well as Vitamins and Amino Acids to the water, so I figure they get some of that. Once in a while I'll put in Live Baby Brine, or some Cyclopeeze.

I do not feed my corals. The softies grow like weeds without specific feeding. I am just getting into the SPS and will follow this poll to see what others might be doing.

I feed mine Phyto-Feast. It seems not to encourage algae growth unlike DT Phyto.
Although, most of the corals I plan on keeping are LPS. I have no plans to keep SPS.

I use cyclopeeze for the lps and I add selcon and vitamin to the water. I'm gonna try the puree clams and glutamine sometime soon.

i feed them light!~

and some times i throw some cyclop ezz in there but mainly for the tube worms and the micro life...

For those people who responded with Coral Frenzy, I would be interested in the results.
Can you actually see the corals "liven up" when you feed them?

Kirk

Where you interested in what people are feeding their Softies, LPS, SPS... some combination of those... or just a general question?

I also do "blender mix" (so no poll vote from me), but then again I have just SPS now, so no longer target feed anything more than my GBTA.

Simple answer: yes
Longer answer: Any powdered or pureed food will do the same
Better answer: Frozen Cyclopeeze beats the heck out of the rest
My general coral food: Mostly pureed seafood, and that infrequently
My target LPS food: Frozen Cyclopeeze

I feed different things depending on the day (Coral Frenzy, pureed food w/oyster eggs, frozen cyclopeeze, Amino Acids). Other than the pureed food, I use the other two only ~ twice a week. I am interested to hear what others are doing in terms of frequency of coral feeding, not just what they are feeding.

Ed,

Just a general question, but I am primarily keeping LPS. I believe Mike may have answered my question. :)

I would be interested in the frequency that people feed their corals as well. Their is a balance to how much you feed vs feeding too much that your water quality is affected (ie, nitrates, phosphate increase).
