propagating zoos

i have some orange zoos that i want to propagate,ive done the put rock beside the zoos but i want to try different method can i cut the head and glue them on a piece of rock or do i have to scrape them off and then glue.

Ive never tried to cut off the heads, i think it will kill them. I have tried to glue individuals to rock and they didnt stick into the glue for long. I have only had sucess with scrapeing off a thin layer of rock and transfering that to the new placement. Otherwise place rocks around the zoos and wait.

I am no expert, but I cut and glued mine. I bought a big ugly rock with 3 polyps. I used a razor and cut as close to the rock as possible. I used super glue gel to glue them to my frag rock. They have since tripled in number on the new rock.

One time I accidentally cut the heads off when my Xacto slipped. They squirted me in the face and deflated on my table... in haste I applied super glue to a rock, dropped them on it and stuck them in a tank. Couple days later they looked like normal healthy zo's. That's just 2 polyps though, not a very scientific sample. They lived and reproduced. I haven't tried it again, the squirting of possibly toxic liquids part kind of scared me off.

I have propagated zoos by cutting their heads off with scissors (I cut approximately half way down the stock). Then I placed the zoo heads on a rock, and I wrapped it up with bridal veil. In about a week the zoos attached quite nicely, and I took the bridal veil off. The zoos that I cut the heads off of grew new heads over time.

Of course it is always a good idea to take all the needed safety measures.

I've had good luck placing small pieces of rubble rock on top of the zoo's they seem to grow over the rock faster than if you just placed the rock next to them.
