Man...Those damsels are a wild bunch! I had about 5 sargent majors about the size of a nickel and 2 beau gregorys in my tank which I caught in tidepools. One of my sargent majors is missing part of his tail, one beau gregory was killed by the others yesterday and one sargent major killed himself (or maybe it was me ) today when I was trying to catch him while siphoning water out of the tank. He swam right up the tube trying to get away from the net and got stuck in the tube! I tried to work him out of the tube but he was really tight up in there so I blew the hose from the other end and he shot out like a bullet:shock: Bummer man...I'm going to have to try and get some other small fish this weekend. I thought by putting quite a few of them in there together at the same time, they would get along, but I guess they will fight regardless. :doubt: So, word to the wise, be careful with damsels!
Here's what I am going to look for again in the first pic...A juvenile french angel. I have caught about a dozen of these over time and are one of my favorite aquarium fish! They will eat out of your hands after just a week of being in the tank and are just plain old cool! Alot of them I would just catch to look at them and release them which was the case with this one in the pic below. They get pretty big so I will just keep him (if I find one) until he gets too big for the tank and then let him go or put him in a friends tank. We'll see what the tidepools have to offer. I also want some blue chromis like in the second pic I caught, but that will have to wait until the water warms up as you can't find them in tidepools
