I sold off most of my SPS last summer as I couldn't keep up to Ca demands without adding a reactor, but I did hold on to a few of my fav's-here's one!
Grew this from a frag the size of bic pen cap under NO lighting.

wow, that is a nice bottlebrush.

i have a purple tipped species as well, and expected them to look similar, but mine is totally different. The tips are more of a purple/blue and the base is much lighter.

Funny thing is I'm sure there the same species and great shot by the way-they both look good no matter how you slice'em My sps seemed to take on rare color morphs under the NO's. I sure hope it doesn't lighten up too much under the PC's
