I bought a 4" x 2' BLACK Schedule 40 PVC pipe to put in the QT I have running.

Unfortunately, the darn thing won't stay submerged, it floates. Evidently, I did not know there are certain grades that are better for staying submerged.

With that said,

1. Is this pipe safe? (it smells like polyurethane cement)
2. IF safe to use, what can I use to submerge this pipe?

I don't want chemicals to leach out in the QT and kill my fish.

Thanks
Kirk

I know exactly what the problem is... you are using that Aqueon 75 gal drilled with Megflow overflow, no way anythings gonna stay submerged in there. I will take the 75 of your hands and replace it with a standard 75 and Im sure that will solve your problems.. lol

Ichthys,

Now that is funny, you should take that act to Vegas, baby ! :)

Frankie,

Thanks. I thought something was not right..I will not put it in the tank then.

Hey Kirk, regular white pvc schedule 40 or grey sch 80 will stat submerged and another thing I like even better is to silicone marbles to the bases of decorative plastic plants (FW). IMO fish feel safer hiding behind/amongst them but are also more easily viewed plus act as a cusion when/if they get startled. I have a few already made up if intertested, give me a shout.
