Do you keep a QT up and running all the time?

If you don't buy fish frequently, do you take down the QT and only put into use when you purchase a new fish?

Do you keep any meds in the tank at all times to keep new fish free of parasites?

I keep a tank available for when I may need it. But it is not set up and running all the time. All equipment is there and ready to set up. I keep sponge filters in my sumps to use for biofiltration.

I keep mind running with a sponge filter. No need for meds unless fish are exhibiting parasites....if meds are used...i typically, break the QT down, clean thoroughly and start over...yes it is a laborous process but worth it in the long run...

since I have alot of fish, to me it is an investment and worth the time to protect said investment.

I do keep a sponge filter in my sump of my 240, so it can be ready to go when I do buy a new fish.
I usually store the tank ( 29 gal.) and stand outside.
