question about salt creep

Is it normal to make salt creep in places that should not even get wet? I noticed I'd get salt creep at the top edge of my glass tank sump, on the power cables of the heaters and on the drip hose. I don't think they are getting wet, and I thought only water evaporates and leaving all the salt in the tank.

Do I have a leak/splash somewhere instead?

it's probably from splashing. that's what i have experienced (still do) anyway. \
i even had salt somehow creep all the way through the cord of my grounding probe and start to build up on the outlet where it was plugged in, five feet away from my tank.
