Quiet Needlewheel pumps

I have two Coralife Super Skimmers and have been satisfied with their performance but the pumps are a bit loud for my liking, so i've been thinking about getting a new skimmer that is quieter or building my own, in either case i kinda want them to be recirculating, but the main thing i'm looking for right now is what pumps to look for that are quiet, one for a feed pump and/or another for a recirculating pump
for the recirculating pump i would prefer that its threaded on both intake/outlet and have needlewheel propeler and what not, hope this isn't too much to ask from a pump

SEDRA makes a really great pump, Needle wheel, I have the Sedra 9000 & really like it, comparing to the gen-x hands down quieter. Eheim makes great pumps so the two would work out nicely for your application. JMO

if you order the internal one make sure you get the venturi as well,
i usually order the external version w/ plumbing/venturi and get them to sell me the other half of the unions, (they are spears usa 1/2" unions) if im using it as a recirc.
these pumps are excellent for mesh modding as well, and probably a little better than sedra pumps, but the sedra pumps are good too, both will be quiet.
