Man thats a tuff one Boomer, on first glance looks very much like a Tapestry Nerite or similar but on closer look yes the the pattern is in relief. With pic not being in ideal focus the iregular shape and layout of the recessed areas (retracted polyps?) makes it hard to id any particular coral that I'm familiar with. Posibly a retracted Anemone of some type, the native Rock Anemones around here show alot of texture/pattern when closed up at low-tide.
So...hmmmm.... what the heck is it, or do we have to wait til someone figures it out/guesses correctly ??? It figures that Michael would be traveling West on thier way to SeaMax and not be able to reply.
