As I was opening up my canopy to feed the tank, my fairy wrasse jumped out and landed on top of the tank flopping around violently. I gently swatted him back into the tank, and in the process got a 1 1/2 inch glass like spike stuck deep into my hand. I don't know what part of the fish this could be, but it drew a fair amount of blood cause it went deep. Is there any thing I should be concerned about? (I'm talking about my health, the fish seems to be just fine).

Well they seem to be non venomous from my reading and I would say aside from that just clean and maybe use some antibiotic ointment and cover it for a day to keep any dirt from entering the puncture. That’s my thoughts on it.

..and, as obvious as this seems, keep that hand out of the tank until healed..(dont want bacteria enter the wound).

:)

Yeah that's what I thought too. Just wanted to check with "Yoda's" of the reef community, thanks responding. As far as medical emergency's go, I'm sure there's a lot worse out there.

it could have been a rabbit fish then youd be in alot more pain :) i have 1 and when im cleaning i make sure he is on the other side
