All sources that I've researched seem to suggest that this stuff is red bubble algae, but I'm not completely sure... It's been growing on my fan (and only on my fan) for the past two months or so. The largest "bubble" is about .75 inches in diameter, so I thought that it might be a little too big for bubble algae.

Should I get rid of the stuff, or should I not worry about it? What do you all think? Thanks! =)

Botryocladia skottsbergii red valonia

nasty one to have, spreads to everything and is not fussy about nutrition or light, treat as per green bubble algae
