I have a Reef Octopus NWB 200 skimmer and am looking to either get a bigger skimmer or put a bubble blaster 2000 or 3000 pump on it to increase it's skimmage. This is a great skimmer as is and pulls really nasty skimmate at a rate of about 1/2 its collection cup a week. I'd like to pull 1 of it's cups a week. How much of an improvement will a bubble blaster pump be? The bubble blaster hy-2000 pump is supposed to pull between 1200-1400lph. My skimmer currently uses the octopus 3000 pump.

Skimmerwhisperer,
I'm glad you chimed in. I tried an octo extreme 200 with the single sicce and my nwb200 kicked it's behind on my system. My tank is 230 gallons and I'm upgrading my sump so my new sump will hold about 50 gallons at normal operating range. I have a line on a warner marine msx 2s cone skimmer as well. The neck diameter on my current skimmer looks to be between 4.25 and 4.5".
Thanks,
Darrell
