I have a 100 gallon tank and a 60.. gallon tank im going to make into a sump but before I do start building the sump I've read I should know what skimmer im goin to use. so my question to all you experience reef keepers is what is a good skimmer for my size tank and sump. also pleas keep in minda im a 24 year old with not a ton of cash to spend. any and all advice is welcome ad appriciated. thanks :)

I can not recommend a certain brand of skimmers for the simple fact that I do not run a sump with my tank. However I do know that you should be shopping for a skimmer rated for at least a 200gal. tank. There are different types of skimmers. You should do some research on which type will work for you.
As for cost, IMO I would log in some posts here on FR. Ask some questions about your build, and about skimmers. Once you have enough post you will be able to use the classifieds here at RF. You should be able to find a skimmer to fit your needs for approx 1/2 the cost of a new one.

Others will chime in with a good type, and brand of skimmer for your tank

BTW I would wait to section off the sump until you know which skimmer you will be using .
Good luck on your build and please post some pics.

:) Thanks for reply. I found a eshopps s-200 in practicly new condition on craigslist and decided to pick it up. i've decided im going to add a over flow box in my tank recently to get away from the siphon which will be my next step, then the sump, then live sand and rock :) does anyone know of a good place to go for the live sand and rock? and how much do i need? oh and more importantly is the benefits of live sand worth the cost? thanks agian

i talked him down to 300 but yeah eventually i will upgrade to a better skimmer. im just tryin to get the tank started as cheeply as i can and month by month ill be replacing parts. have you heard bad things about that skimmer? very curious, i didnt kinda rush into the purchase. because i want to start building my sump. ill look into it but you may know, is there anyway to change the pump in it? thanks for the advice

well, the one pictured in the add u bought has an aquabee 2001 pump, which is a pretty good skimmer pump,
and $300 is a much better deal...
i thought you were having to spend $450, and that made the skimmer i posted a better deal,
but dont worry, you got a good skimmer.
