I currently have a tiny rio 200 sending water from my sump into my 10 gallon refugium. Should I split the water skimmed off the top of the tank coming down the overflow into the fuge too? If so, does anyone have any experience doing this with the tubes (I dont have PVC nor do I have the space for PVC). I havent noticed and nitrogen bubbles in the sand...

John - how long has the refugium been running? Is there a good population of worms and other sand critters? You could run the water from the tank directly into your refugium, for sure. I'm not sure how to go about that - what kind of tubes do you have if they aren't PVC - is it that clear hosing (sorry don't know the name off hand)?

Yea, its the clear vinyl tubing (I think). I am not getting as much stuff in there as I thought I would. I have a LS DSB, chaetomaphora, and ~10-15 lbs of LR. I think it might benefit from a heavier flow with more nutrients from the tank. I'll try to look around for some plumbing parts to direct the water properly... Not really sure how well you can split the output from the overflow from the tank though.
