Remora Hang-On Protein Skimmer ?

i have been using this as a hob, now with a sump, can i just set it in the sump without the skimmer box

I found that keeping the pump as close to the water surface as possible without it sucking in air helped it perform better when I was using a Remora.

Put it as close to your water entrance in the sump from the overflow would also give you the best skim too.
