i hope this question is in the right place. i have a 75g fowlr and i have a lot of particulates in the water. i have been doing water changes a cn not seem to get the water to clear up. how do you deal with this?

Any clue what casued these ? It sounds like a carboante explosion, Aka snow storm, from to high a Ca++ and/or Alk. However, it could also be a bacterial explosion. What are the water parameters ?

it actualy looks like Excess detritus, i just did a change last night im waiting 24 hrs to do a test

If you have too much flow in your tank or your sump it'll keep it kicked up. It's gotta have a place to settle so you can remove the excess...Good luck!

If you have a sump a filter sock on the drains will do wonders. If you can get it up and down to the sump the socks will trap it. Just change the sock every few days.

Don

Since you are using a filter and powerheads, you might try using sponge fliters on your powerheads to catch the stuff.
