RIP Krusty the clownfish

My first saltwater fish ever died today. Krusty the clown who was a Clarkii. He lived almost 4 years with me which is pretty good since the Sebae anenome I bought him with lasted less than 2 weeks. He jumped out of the tank onto the tile floor. He flopped valiantly as I can see lots of little dried up puddles where he had been. RIP Krusty.

well.. as they say "put a lid on it" - hardy, har, har, har..


nah.. in all seroiusness, I have lids on my display to help from splashing and to keep the fish in. I tried it without, but ended up shattering one of my MH bulbs when some water splashed up. some people like to keep it open though to help with oxygen exchange and for light penetration, but me personally, I choose to keep a lid on it.

Thanks all. I buried him earlier. Our ground is frozen here so I had to use fresh dirt. I put him under my blueberry bush so I can enjoy him when he comes back as blueberries.

I had an awesome eel that lived for 6 years until the whole dropping the light in the fish tank issue

sorry to hear dude i rescued my sixline of the carpet 2 days ago he had been there awhile 2 wet spots on the floor got him back in to that tank and he sank no gill beating i admisted cpr or ftp (fish to power head) got sum current over his gill and let him go he hid for 10 minutes and then was back to his bussiness

Very nice save. I suppose thats about a close call as it gets. I don't particularly like clown fish but this one had a great temperment. Out of the couple hundred I've seen its the only one I would describe as sociable. So I am not even going to try to replace it. Although they have been together over 2 years I think my GSM clown caused his death. He would occasionally chase Krusty and I have seen him just break the surface before, but I think this time he broke it all the way.
