This may be simple question, but....I need to replace the filters on my RO/DI unit (Captive Purity 4-stage Pro System) and was wondering if there was anything else i needed to do other than shutting off the input water valve prior to removing the existing filters? Then, after getting the new filters installed and running, how much water should I discard (if any) before considering the filters primed and ready?

I would turn the input water off, and then open up the output to empty out as much water as possible (especially if the unit has a small storage tank). Then replace each filter and start it back up. How much you throw away depends on your feed water TDS. My incoming water is about 50, so I really only waste the first 1/2 gallon or sometimes not even that.
