RTN question

I'm assuming this acro is suffering from RTN, but I'm not sure. It was given to me by someone who wasn't sure what to do with it. The dead tissue appears to have started in the center of the coral. What I did was cut off the majority above the base (base was still fine) and then trimmed a couple pieces of good coral from the top and glued it back to the frag plug. I was wondering if it is safe to put into my tank like this or if I should worry about it spreading.

It will be safe to add to your tank, as long as there aren't any pests on it. RTN and STN can be caused by so many different things, other than pests. Spread some super glue around the cut edge, might help stop any further RTN.

Dip it, and QT to see what it does, unfortunatly most people dont have a qt so dip and put it in the display....

ok. I just don't keep any acros so I'm not sure what I'll do with them, but I would hate to see them die

I do have a bio cube I could put them in instead of my main tank. If I put them as high as possible would that be enough light to hold them over until I can make sure they're ok?

They would be just fine for a couple of weeks.
