sand question

after a few months my sand gets a light coat of light brown algae, and the larger objects start showing up through, (silk worms and their tubes etc.) so i usually just take my siphon and vaccum the sand, making it all white and smooth again.. by doing this am i jeapordizing my copepod/amphipod populations?
i have a little scooter in there. any advice is great thanks.

No jeapordizing at all. Your populations recover quickly.

I agree...Also, pods live inside your rock as well so you won't wipe them out all one time
