Seahorses finally ordered!

Christmas is finally coming!

My erectus seahorses are on order and will arrive Thursday or Friday morning.

Wish me luck with Fed Ex! I am having them held at the local facility so I can pick up at 9am and come straight home and acclimate. Oh and take pictures!

The pod looks great with halimeda from Jonathon and tons of macro from Susie.

Horses are HOME

Just picked them up at Fed Ex!

Lady says are there really live seahorses in there! Yep sure is. Good time to chat with them and they might think about how important their delivery service is in the future. But lucky me, I've never had a fed ex problem.

Anyway, will post pics soon. THey look great; very colorful and distinct patterns.

Thinking of names as we speak.

I have a hard enough time trying to figure out my camera to take a pic of a decent sized fish. I find it next to impossible to get a decent picture of these guys! They were very active in the bag and really seemed to want to get out. They finally did and then I was off with Vicki and Susie and after a long afternoon I finally got to sit and stare at them.

I ordered four; the females are very pretty; one orange and silver and the other burgandy and silver. The burgandy and silver one refused the picture taking and every time I tried she would turn her back but you can see her pretty coloring. The males are both what they call "chocolate." They seem to be the most active.

I hope they eat tomorrow; seems if you can accomplish that you have a good chance for success.

They have names. I know it's taboo to name your fish; but it seems different for seahorses. Everyone seems to name them.

Orange female is Blaze

Burgandy female is Brandy

The boys are Cloud (the pouty one) and Smokey.

I could be in trouble as they change colors... )

They are awake and all alive! I have a hard time with acclimating sometimes; don't know why.

One boy ate about 4 mysis; the other boy was "interested" so I expect him to be hungry enough to eat tonight.

The burgandy girl, Brandy, ate a couple.

BLaze the other female could give a rip about food. She is being weird so I'm a little concerned with her. She sorta just swims aboiut not even hitching and could care less about the food.

Will do a water change this afternoon and feed again tonight.

EAT EAT EAT little ponies.
