What is the best lighting for a Sebae Anemone?

T5ho or medal halide. The depth of your tank will determine which is best and the wattage of mh needed.

I kept a Purple Sebae, for several years, on the bottom of a 75, under 6X54 T5HO. It thrived, very well.

Here's an old picture of it. More pics of it were recently published, in Reef Hobbyist Magazine.

A Solana 34 gallon (20x20x20) Aquarium w/108w Nova Extreme Pro T5HO would that lighting be suitable? What other types of coral would survive under this light and what types would not thrive. Is there LED lights that would be suitable for a Sebae Anemone?

Thank you for your help it's much appreciated. :)

Can anybody recommend any good LED light fixturesand what kind of LED light that would equal the 108w Nova Extreme Pro T5HO ? Thanks!

Acan Lighting 600-B 18" LED, Ecotech Radion LED, Ecoxotic Panorama Fixture LED, Aqua Illuminations Blue Sol LED. All provide at least as much light as your T5 fixture and are backed by great companies with good track records. If you want all the tricks pre-order the Ecotech Radion. If you want a solid unit with a good balance of features vs. price get the Acan Lighting unit. Their 800 series has even more PAR output.

Do some research on the anemone you're interested in, before getting it.

Sebae is a generic term usually referring to one of two species of anemone which are different in both ease of care and the number of clownfish that will use it for a host.

Heteractis crispa is what Sid posted pictures of up above. That is an easier anemone to keep and is accepted by many more clown species than the other which is Heteractis malu.

Clicking on the link in my signature will bring to the resource library section containing info on anemones.

What many people fail to realize is that anemones are more difficult to keep than corals. I dont think there is anything like a "starter anemone" but if there was, I would guess the bubble tip anemone,(often abbreviated as BTA, E.quadricolor) would be it.

Look them all up and find which one fits your system, requirements, and experiance level best.
