self priming pump?

I'm looking for a good pump for sucking out the gunk on the bottom of my sump. It would be cool just to be able to take a hose and vacuum up the stuff. all the pumps I have need to be submerged or primed before they will work. want one where I can just plug it in and it starts sucking

How about a small cheap wet/dry vac?

I use my python water change hose.

Awesome thanks for the idea! I didn't think of using the shop vac. When I've sucked water before with it it seemed to be hard on it with the hose fully submerged.

You can get small ones for pretty cheap. I'd check Harbor Freight for prices.

mfin is right, harbour freight carry those for 5 buck, syphon hoses, pretty useful, the best part I don't drink any more gunky water and for 5 bucks, how can you go wrong
