Our annual BBQ last month was a blast with well over 50 members and their families attending, and now, its time to get back into the swing of things with our monthly meetings :high5:
This month Randy & Deanne have offered up their home in Coeur d' Alene to host our meeting. They have a wonderful (albeit re-established) Elos 120XL rimless tank. For those who have not checked in with our web forum, we are also working on a group buy for cleaner crew items from ReefCleaners.org | Clean Up Crews and Macro Algae - Home which will be delivered right before our meeting. The deadline for group buy purchases in Midnight, 9/4. Group buys are a great opportunity for you to buy items, and save money on shipping, as everyone who buys-in splits the shipping. The entire order will be shipped to Joanne's house, and she will bring any ordered items to the meeting, or you can pick them up at her house beforehand. Discussion Topic: In honor of our clean-up crew group buy, we will be discussing clean-up crews! Feel free to bring your questions as we discuss how snails, crabs, starfish, urchins, pods, sandbeds, refugiums and macroalgaes all help us keep stable, long living tanks.
Macro Algae Exchange - Need some macro, or want a new strain? We will also be conducting a macro-algae exchange at the meeting, so bring a handful of your macro algae, and we will mix it together with everyone else's at the meeting. This way you can bring home some new types of algae, new breeds of pods, and help diversify your refugium clean-up crew.
Have a safe and fun labor day weekend, and remember, group buy deadline is Sunday night (which is right in the middle of our holiday weekend), so get your orders in now before you miss the deadline!
