Well i wasnt very happy about the Shedd aquarium in chicago....It must of been school field trip day because there were about 5 billion kids there pushing talking all loud...If i have to hear another HEY THERE'S NEMO AND HEY THERES DORA.. It will be to soon... They had some nice looking fish and a very very very limited amount of corals...The lfs here had more corals then they did :) But anyways thats all for me....

Did you go into the lower level? That is where all their good stuff is kept.

ok what's wrong with nemo and Dori dood...everytime kids come in here, they always say that and it's cute .

I am sorry that Gaby took her kids to the aquarium the same day you went.:p I guess you did not see her? She usually hangs out around the restrooms.:D

sorry dood but you're confusing me with Krish

I'm going to have to go ahead an side with brady on this one. I was at the Scott aquarium in Omaha just last weekend, and about 1.2 million kids decided to go there that day as well. It was so loud; kids slapping the glass at the fish, others litterally pushing their way in front of me to see the exhibits, etc. If they had a kids hour and then an adult hour off and on that woudl be great. I love kids, but when you're paying money to see fish/corals....you get annoyed pretty quick.

Yes we did dont get me wrong it was nice there but my hopes were high and got let down...They had some very very nice lionfish there :)

Reminds me of the Georgia Aquarium, last Christmas season. Here's the line inside the gates, after you make it around the outside of the entire building already.

wow that would be a very long long long wait...thats where we are heading to next..We are going to buy the tickets online so we dont have to wait in line and stuff..

Ha! Brady, this was the line if you already had tickets, like we did.

It shouldn't be nearly as busy any more, so don't worry. The place was only 3 weeks old when i went, so it should be well calmed down. Please take pics, especially of the reef. I've wanted to see how it's progressed in the last year, but am having a hard time finding photos.

And wait 'till you see the big window tank. Just wait....

The Oklahoma Aquarium is worth checking out if you're into traveling to see these. I went last September. It's a pretty new aquarium and not very crowded. They've got lots of saltwater tank, including a large one with at least 2 bull sharks (largest bull sharks in captivity). There's a very large tank (several thousand gallons) dedicated to fish from the Caribbean with one huge porcupine puffer at least 18" long. When I was there a diver got into the tank to feed them. The puffer was very pushy and the diver had to keep pushing it away so other fish could eat from his hand. They've got the fattest mandarins I've ever seen in some other tanks. Although I will say that the fishing tackle museum was painfully boring, but then I'm not a fisherman.

Too bad there's not a whole lot else to do in Tulsa.

I went there like three times. The first 2 times I went I was not into the saltwater hobby and had no knowledge about it. I went last year and I was very disapointed. Even the Wild Reef down stairs was bad. Well....whatever.....that's going to be the last time I go there till I end up having kids one day and just maybe I'll decide to take them whenever it's free to go in.

Brady,

You should of let me known when that you were gonna be in town i could have taken you to a bunch of LFS that had better coral setups then the shedd. I waited in the exact same line as you when i went. I too was dissapointed but it was cool to see the sharks and rays. All they mainly kept were softies and LPS at the shedd. I don't recall seeing one real SPS. I think my tank is more exciting than the shedd. Next time you come to chicago we'll go on a LFS tour and i promise you won't be dissapointed.
