I was looking on line at compatibility of peppermint shrimp with a pistol shrimp. My pistol, James, lives with Jesse, his watchman goby. So I don't really anticipate something trying to get into the hole being a problem. But, just wasn't sure. When I was looking on line some said it was no problem, others said they had issues. However, the issues people said did not seem all that horrible.... like the pistol snapping. I have a rock that the longer it is in my tank the more aptasia seems to rear their ugly heads. I have tried Aptasia-X, vinegar injections, pulling the rock out and epoxying their holes, but after a day all of the sudden there is more. Now, this rock has the most coraline and life so I don't want to do anything drastic to it so I am thinking peppermint would be the way to go. This is in my 14 gal nano that is still pretty new. Everyone else in that tank shouldn't be an issue unless my tiny little clown friends go rouge. lol. Any thoughts?

I dont see an issue. But you can get aptaisha-eating filefish, or copperbanded butterfly (dont know tank requirements on the copper).

I think that the Peppermints would be worth a try for you, just make sure to get Real Ones =(Lysmata wurdmanni). They are fairly inexpensive and efficient with the smaller Aiptasia. In a smaller aquarium will probably even be able to see these nocturnal guys more than you would in larger systems. Our Sponsor Reefs2Go usually has these available. Next thing on the list would be Berghia Nudibranch's which would be the most effective but once Aiptasia are gone will starve out, but if they reproduce for you there is potential to sell offspring and actually make a profit above original purchase. Send a pm to Matt (Crazyfish) here on site to see if he has any available ???

Cheers, Todd
