Ahhhh that is too bad. Where is the out cry for the many other people that die each and every day doing thier job? Sorry I might sound harsh but they died or got shot doing thier job.

Roscoe, innocent people die every day. It is a part of life. But police officers and soldiers put themselves in harms way to keep you and your family safe. I have seen these kind of comments all over news article blogs and personally think they are a joke and complete BS. Even had a lengthy debate with Brett over it. My simple explanation is that when a civilian dies, it affects family and friends. When a officer is killed in the line of duty, it affects the whole community. I honor anyone who puts their life on the line for a complete stranger's safety and freedom.

Surang, the big difference is they didn't die in some industrial accident, they died performing the job of trying to protect us; willingly stepping into a dangerous underpaid job of defending the citizens against soulless predators and psychos. My tears go out to their family...

Steven, amazing how friends think alike. We were both writing quite similar at same time

I get all that. The job they have is a choice they made. I don't classify military soldiers and police officers in the same catagory. I have many friends and some family members in the milatary and I commend them for thier bravery. I guess I have experienced or witnessed more police profiling, harrasment and brutality than the average Joe. Until you have gone through it you will never never never ever know how myself and others feel about the arrogance that some officers have (Yes the few rotten apples did spoil the rest in the basket). Growing up on the east side of Tacoma was rough to say the least in the late 80's and early 90's. Not only you had to watch out for the gangsters you have to watch out for the gang in blue too (not the crips either). How would you feel that almost everyday you walk to school and back you get stopped by the police for no reason other than one reason they "think" you are a gang member? Even when you tell them that you are not they start calling you a stupid punk and harrassing and get physical and bully you until you make up some stupid name for them to record in their little gangster books. I for one thought gang members were the dumbest people and the thought of joining a gang was the last thing on my mind. I was never the one that needs to be part of a group to feel accepted. So you have to understand different people are treated differently by police officers. That is just a real fact. No ifs and buts about it. Maybe the police force should take a better look at themselves and figure out why thier officers are being targeted. I am almost 100% positive the officers that got killed recently by the 2 suspects were mistreated by law enforcement through out thier entire life and it is a backlash of built up anger and frustration towards those actions. Yeah the officers that were killed was most likely not the ones that did the harrassing but just like how they treat certain group of people. They are affiliated with so they become the target. Think about it if a bully pushes you around over and over just because you are in the wrong neghborhood. Most likely you will eventually fight back.

Now with all that said I do feel for the family of the officers but I guarentee I won't have any sleepless nights over it.

I see it completely different. Some officer steps in harms way to help out a family and get shot at, they have the right to "do society a favor."

Violent criminal behavior is never justified, NEVER. I don't care how much baggage they carry. In my philosophy it is ones own actions: one's own sins that create hostility, not the stuff that was done to you. I am far from being some bleeding heart liberal who has never been grouped nor targeted, nor am I of the "always turn the other cheek" idiom. Simply a karma view that one is 100% responsible for their own actions. Clean hands do make a happy life.

Are you kidding me? Lets see who you call when a drug deal gone bad happens in your house were your wife and kids are. Dont BS me and act like some abused kid who gets messed with on the way to school. It doenst happen like that and saying it just makes you look stupid.
It is a choice, a choice to serve you. If the "gang in blue" were harrassing you as a youth, there had to be some justification for it. Officers have their hands tied now more than ever. Do some research on the recent shootings before you open your ignorent mouth again. They are being targeted by CRIMINALS because they wear a badge. Reality will hit real hard when your eye are barely open.

You will never understand Mike! So what you are basically telling me is that because I grew up in a certain neighborhood that I was 100% responsible for the cops profileing and harrassing me? So how was I being harmfull walking to school and back? Here is another one for you Mike. How can you explain this cops action. On my senior year of high school. It was the end of year and finals week me a couple friends were done with our test for the day. So we left school to go pick up a friends girlfriend at another high school across town (Fir Crest). I got pulled over. I asked why I got pulled over. His response dropped my jaw to the floor. He siad there were to many black heads to be driving through here. Usually yout type is up to no good. He let us go and all but the reason for pulling us over was plain ole racial profiling and racist. I am not saying I am a saint here or anything but look at the flip side of the coin sometimes. Do I want more cops to be killed? NO
Will I be surprised if another gets gunned down? NO. Will I grieve for them? No
They are no different than you and I. Except they get paid to stay home after they beat a man down that was clearly not fighting back or a helpless little girl in a cell. The worst thing is they got off on those charges!! Any how no matter what I say you will never understand my point and others alike. There will always be a divide when it comes to this subject.

I would list my private history and record here, but will leave it as simply that I was never raised in some ivory tower nor protected enclave.
You have some real issues my friend, Hope some day you can let go of the hatred.

Guess this conversation has gone a bit too far.

I know they were targeted by criminals because they wore a badge. I never said they didn't! I wish i can drop you in one of the neighborhoods I grew up in at birth and see how you will grow up to be having to struggle with the same events! LOL just like them they will only contact you when they need you! So don't start bringing up BS about me and my family!!!!! You are crossing the line bringing up personal things that you have no idea about!!! You might want to watch the ignorance that is coming out of your mouth before you open it again!! You have no freaking idea Steven! Just because you had the pleasure of growing up in a cookie cutter neighborhood and had supporting families to help you through your life and had more doors for you to walk through. Again until you have walked in those shoes then I suggest u research police brutality, harrassment and racial profiling!!!! You are way funny! You mean me hanging out in the park with my girlfriend in our car talking is enough for them to have some justification for them to question why we are sitting in our car?

Mike I don't have any issues or hatred towards the police force. I'm just stating the flip side of things. I can understand why people do certain things. Do I justifiy the shooters actions? No of course not! But I do realize and understand that there are deep underlying problems that sparks these types action and it is no surprise to me. Life experience is what make people who they are and not all of us had the same pleasure as Steven.

Surang, Steven's aunt who is like a mother to him, is a hard working honest officer of the law who is currently graduated to crutches; recovering from being hit by a drunk driver while assisting a different motorist in need. She is one of the kindest hearted people I have ever had the privilege of calling a friend. Guess she deserved it because of the heat you took in your neighborhood? Who are you to judge ALL cops based on some in another town from another time? You are blinded by hate, and I hope you can find your way out of this baggage some day.

Just read your prior reply, guess we have said our say...

I have no bagage LOL. Just because I have an opinion on the matter. I have issues? So is it fair for me to say you have issues because you have an opinion on the suject too? I didn't say that any of those officers deserved it. That is where you all are getting me wrong . It is sad for anyone to die including officers. Steven's aunt has nothing to do with what is being talked about here. All I'm saying is that not all officers are good!!! They are people like you and me. They brake the law like you and me but they just get away with more than you and me. Sorry if you feel like I have issues but I don't. There are always 2 sides to a street.

Called prejudice. Makes no difference if for a race or an occupation, it is still the same.
Like your comment about Steven:

You have no clue what he has been through yet assume he is a "fortunate one" for being supportive of those in blue. I have been slapped around, unjustly put behind bars, even had one cop so out of line, he was fired for his conduct after my complaints proved out to be true. Many of my relatives had numbers under their skin. So what. They risk their life to keep my wife and kids safe. They put it all on the line with little pay, little respect, and bad hours. They take just as much abuse as any of your pals took.

I give them the benefit of the doubt and see the average officer as part of a group of the best of the best, you see them as probable trouble.

Really? Badley mistaken again Roscoe.

Just because i don't support them. That makes me a bad person? Same goes for him he has no clue on what I do and he made an ASSumption that was out of line!

They are the cause of it. If they didn't then no one would be targeting police officers. For the most part law enforcemnet is great. I just don't understand why you think that they are all good officers.

We all do things to help each other out whether throwing your self in front of a hail of bullets to protect a complete stranger or giving away some corals to a complete stranger. Just because I don't sympathize with the officers death don't mean I have hatred for them. I see it like this we are all people no matter what you do or how much money you have. We are the same once stripped of what we do and have. With that said they are no more special than you and I.

These are the same category to you? You have got to be kidding me.

Just because I don't sympathize with the officers death don't mean I have hatred for them.

Thanks for proving my point, you have no respect. Just like you have for Brie when you first opened your mouth. There is a time and a place for your discussion, this is niether.

Really!! You have really badly mistaken your comments earlier!! I understand your point. I understand you have officers in your family and feel a certain way and I respect your freelings. Just respect mines too! Just because someones opinion differs from yours don't mean you have to start calling me stupid and ignorant. I guess that is how you think of yourself since our opinions are so different.

There was no point proven at all. LOL I have no respect? Because I don't agree with you? I'm disrespecting Brie? If I am you are more than contributing to the disrespect because you are posting here! I wasn't catagorizing them the same way. That is how you are. What I was conveying is people show thier kindness and wellingness to help in different ways.

Brie if I disrepect you in any way. I apoligize!!!
