Sinlge 400 watt 20k halide over a 55

Here is my desing.generally for a 55 gallon tank i would do 2x 250 se halides but with this tank i want a combo sps/lps tank so i figure since lps actually prefer not to intense lighting i'll give them indirect lighting by placing them on the sides of the tank with the halide in the middle and putting the sps directly under the halide since they prefer the intense lighting. what do you guys think as for lighting

Actually I am using the same setup... I have a 36 inch width on a 40 gallon breeder. And I am using a single 175 watt on the center and the softies are on the sides.

Depends on the SPS you want to keep and where it's gonna be located in your tank. I have 4 96w pc's on my 55 gal and my SPS are growning like weeds.
