Hey,

Well my Red Sea Prizm Skimmer has finally broken.Well i actually broke it when i was cleaning it!

I just wanted peoples advice on replacing it.I know a lot of people do not like the prizm skimmers so i was wandering if i should upgrade it.

I'm running a Juwel panorama tank (170 litres/45 US gallons) with:

Fluval External Cannister Filter (1300 Litres/hour) with Pharophos,Carbon and Biological Media)
Vecton UV Filter
Juwell Internal Filter (1000 litres/hour)
X2 Maxi Jets (1000 litres/hour) + (250 Litres/Hour)

I've had no fish in my tank since they were wiped out (4 months ago) by whitespot and have just corals in the tank which are all doingwell.I've had
a problem with hair algae and as stuck to hot to get rid of it
I did a water test last night:

Ammonia,Nitrites,NItrates:0
Phsophates:0.3

I want to get the water sorted before adding any fish so i'm just wandering if upgrading my skimmer would help to reduce the phosphates.

Thanks.Any help would be appreciated,

Mark

How much were you looking to spend on the skimmer?

As for the hair algae, mexican turbo snails will take care of it.

Thanks Guys!

I got a aqua C remora skimmer in the end! It's been recommended by a few people so hope this does the job!

Thanks
