Skimmer efficiency question

Hello,

I have always wondered, why does my skimmer stop foaming immediately after I feed of even put my hands into the tanks?

I understand the oil thing, but the feeding? Need I stop feeding also?

Nope. It's just the oil in the foods. the skimmer will stop for a while and start back up. No need to worry about it.

I agree...Skimmer's are very sensitive to foods, oils etc so no worries...Happens to everyone

Its all about water surface tension
You will find that by keeping your hands out of the water and rinsing your food that the skimmer will stay on top of what it does best.
