skimmer

hello....im having some probs with the schoran jet skimmer i just started using...im have a eheim 1750 pump im using with it....im not getting anything out of it...seems the bubbles dont make it to the top...my question is...do i need a stronger pump? I have a 75 gallon tank....Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I'm not familiar with that skimmer at all, but to get things going, is the skimmer brand new? Also, is the tank newly setup as well? The reason i ask is because some skimmers take a while to break in if they are new also, if the tank has just been setup with out any bio-load then there wouldn't really be much to skim. Also, how does the level in the skimmers neck adjust? Does it use a gate valve or something? With my skimmer, I use the gate valve to adjust the water level as well as the air injector to get the right mix of bubbles and water. Just a few thoughts...I'm sure someone familiar with the skimmer can get you operating properly in no time
