Hi all, I have a question about a jebo 180 skimmer. I borrowed it from a friend but cannot get it to work right. It doesn't bring up anything just clear water or nothing at all I've tried adjusting it for 4 days now with no success. I also have a redsea skimmer for a 90 gallon but It doesn't get any yukky stuff either. It was working just fine then I did my water change and now it doesn't work either. What am I doing wrong? I have a 150 gallon.

Here is the basics of a skimmer

Air and water :D

Well bubble size, air volume, water process volume, and the good ol hands in the tank issue, feeding and so on all affects a skimmers output.
If you have air bubbles it will get gunk out.
Water level-
Level to high it will flood
Level to low and it will skim dry (not doing its job)

Do you have a pic of your skimmer RUNNING?

no offense but the 2 skimmers you mention are just about worthless...
imo, you need to spend some cash and get some decent skimmers.
do both tanks have sumps? or are you restricted to hang on gear?

good suggestion

I used Red Sea Prizm b4 in my 75, it's worthless like SkimmerWhisperer said

Suggest you to go for higher end product
