My Skunk Cleaner shrimp has molted 4 times in the last 1 1/2 months. He's very active and eats very very well. Parameters are, Ca=440, Alk=8.2, Mag=1380, Ph=8.2, Temp=79, 5 1/2g WC 1xbi-weekly.
2 of these molts I'm sure are from growth. However I'm wondering due to the position of 2 of the molts if the Shrimp can/will molt to escape from a Maxi Mini? Twice now I've found the molt in the clutches of the nems, but the Shrimp is alive and happy.

I've never heard of a shrimp instantly molting as a escape mechanism i could be wrong. Molting is a good sign that your shrimp is growing and receiving enough food to do so. I've had both my Skunk and Peppermint molt up to 3 times in a two month time frame. I think you just have a very happy shrimp who's growing.

correct, molting is a good sign, but also the most vulnerable time for a shrimp...
