Smoking Anemone

This morning my Ritteri let out several puffs of a smoke like substance. Would it be spawn or just expelling waste? It was white colored.

If it was white-colored it was more than likely spawn but I know they can expel quite a bit sometimes.

i agree with Alice. brown is usually associated with wastes.

IIRC, for many anemones, white puffs means male gametes, while black dots indicate femlae gametes. Brown is either feces, excess zooxanthellae, or tissue ejecta.
