My snowflake hasn't eaten since i got him from the lfs on friday. he was last fed on wednesday. They told me he was on frozen food and i was hoping to get him on a mix of a diet. my tank is in kinda bad shape with nitrites. any suggestions on what i should do how long snowflakes go without eating? I tried krill and a rosie to see if he'd go after it but nothing. help. please.

I would say just keep giving him a chance to eat and make you don't leave the uneaten food in the tank too long. I make take a while. Some fish don't need to eat every day.

i just did a water change clearing up little pieces of krill that were at one point frozen and he didnt go for it. im hoping that if i let the water settle for a while and try to feed him at 11:00 he'l go for it because thats when he gets a little active.

yeah he's got a pretty spacious buddah head that he sticks his head out of. I got him a glass canteen bottle with some gravel, i can tell he wants in, but hasn't figured out the single entrance/exit.

I have a snowflake, appx. 14" long. He hangs out under one of my two large Kaelini rocks. I haven't directly fed him in 3 months. He just eats the scraps when I feed my other fish with Prime Reef. Very healthy, swims laps around the tank at night. My scarlet cleaner hangs out with him. A couple of weeks ago, he jumped out of the tank...I found him the next morning and put him back in the water. He is just fine. Very hardy little animals.

thanks man im really glad to hear from you. i feel somewhat relived. i turned off all lights and left my room for a couple of hours to go watch dan in real life(not bad) and i was missing a fish so... we're all good. i hope... il recount in the morning.
