So hard is it to make that plankton stuff?

I think I need to learn how to do this. Can someone help a newbie?

Phyto cultures are easy, making sterile cultures is not. Since there is little benefit and not much use for it I'd just stick with dt's or some other polution in a bottle.

I'll give you a link so you can read up on the process. http://www.melevsreef.com/phytoplankton.html

However, I'm 100% with Don on this one. If you do this, you have to be very careful with the culture and then you also need to buy an indusrial centrifuge or you will not only be pouring phosphates right into your tank, you'll also be pouring heavy metals right into your tank as well. You also need to centrifuge the resultant plankton to concentrate it.

It's not worth it IMO unless you are feeding a lot of clams (and it's not even required then). http://www.google.com/search?source...LF:2006-07,GGLF:en&q=centrifuge+phytoplankton

If you follow Melev's tank I thought he also stopped using it but I may be wrong I kind of fell behind on his thread after it split for the billionth time.
