So how do you get your sump started???

..So i got my new sump all plumbed up now...Hose clamps on everything !!!
....Now ready to add water...then whats next,Do you start the overflow first?
......Or do you start the return pump first??Or start the Aqualifter?Whats the best way to do it??Thanks for your help......Shane

i'm guessing that you are using a hang on back overflow???

It's fairly simple I see you said you have an aqualifter so I'd assume you are using a CPR overflow right? If so, first off, you'd want to make sure your sump has water in it and your return chamber is set to the proper operating level you want it at. Once this is done, you'll want to prime your overflow by filling it with water which you can do by simply having the input section of the overflow below water level and turning on the aqualifter. Once your overflow is full of water and fully primed, you can proceed to turn on the return pump and let her run. I'd keep a bit of water on hand incase you need to add a bit more to the sump etc once the pump starts going, but typically, you can just adjust the water level in the sump and the tank by simply lowering or raising the overflow.
