I found 2 stainless steel hose clamps on the hose leading from my pump. I took them of as I'm sure this isn't good. Cannot find plastic hose clamps except on Foster and Smith website. Anyone have a suggestion. I put some zip ties on it ( YIKES ), but am very worried about the hose coming off and spewing 20 gallons of water on the floor while we're sleeping.

More importantly, one of the stainless clamps had a very slight amount of surface rust on it...could this have affected in any way the livestock I have in the tank? They all seem great ( a couple of fish, snails, and crabs ), but wondering if this could have a lingering effect in my 140 gallon tank. I will do a large water change and change filters tomorrow.

Thanks for any responses.

the amount of res from the clamps in that size of tank couldnt hurt it i have seen people with allot worse for years ...As far as clamps go are u trying to clamp hose onto a smooth pipe ?
