Son of Lighting Question

Hello All -

I have an IceCap 660 ballast that I used to run 4 x 48" VHO.

I am downsizing from a 55 gallon to a 40 gallon breeder (36 x 18 x 16).

I'd like to use my old ballast with either a 4 x 36" VHO arrangement or a 4 x 96 watt PC.

My questions is, which is better? I plan on having softies for the most part, but if either supported clams (derasa I would imagine), that would be great too.

THe bulbs are certainly cheaper if I go with VHO.

Any input is greatly appreicated.

IMHO Stick with VHO, They offer better Spectrum and built in reflectors. I think you will be happy with the result more then PC. Also you may want to look into T5. They offer many alternatives but reflectors are required.
